The Netherlands School Society has a long history in Nairobi. We have been around for more than 45 years now. In these 45 years there have been many changes, we have moved 3 times and we now have 20 different nationalities at our school.
1971, foundation of the Netherlands School Society in Nairobi
The Netherlands School Society was founded in 1971. In 1981 the school was moved to a location on Dennis Pritt Road. There, a 'real' school was built by some parents in collaboration with the Masaai Technical School. For more than 20 years, that location and building was a household name within the Dutch community of Nairobi.
2002, Moved to the Swedish school compound
In November 2002, the Dutch School moved to a new location. A beautiful green location in a central location in Nairobi. We shared this compound with the Swedish School. There was the opportunity to join forces and work together on different fronts. Because the Swedish School wanted to expand, we had to look for a new location in 2016.
2016, Moved to Karen
At the end of June 2016 we found a perfect new location in the beautiful green Karen. A location with a lot of space, lots of nature and a beautiful swimming pool where our students can practice and swim for the diplomas. We also have a large sports field, where there is room for both parents and students to come together.
