Located in Muslim Road off Parkroad, Ngara, Nairobi; Muslim Girls was founded in 1925 in a residential house with the aim to teach Muslim girl child around Nairobi.
A formal school committee was formed with some prominent Nairobi Muslims as members; a proper school was started where Yusuf Garage is presently located opposite Kamukunji Police Station. The official opening was on 26th October 1928.
By 1930, the school had grown to 25 students and in the same year the committee acquired new land and constructed a new school building where the current Muslim Academy is located. Click to view the location
By 1977, the school had become renowned and had turned from entirely Muslim Indian School to a National Institution with students from all communities.
As it is today, there are 4 schools in one. These are Mauladad Nursery, Primary, Girls Secondary and Boys Secondary all under the name of Muslim Academy.
The school offers both the Kenyan and the British Curriculum. The classes in the 8.4.4. system are from Nursery to form 4 and the I.G.C.S.E London system from year 8 to year 11. The two systems are amalgamated with the Islamic Integrated Education Programme Curriculum from the Jamitul Ulamaa Taalim Board, South Africa.
